How many calories do they need to consume to be healthy given their activity level and what is the appropriate dog food for bulldogs?
Well, there is no single answer because it all depends on the weight, size, age, and activity of your dog.
The approximate weight of an average adult English Bulldog is between 40-50 pounds—and that is not fat. It’s essentially muscle!. And because of their build, if they are active, you should be giving them approximately 1358 calories.
On the other hand, French bulldogs—also known as “Frenchies”—are smaller than their English or American counterpart; they need approximately 25 Kcal per pound of body weight.
That being said we also need to know the macronutrients that make up your dog’s food.

1 .For Frenchies
Let’s talk about the small “Frenchies” first.
When it comes to proteins, they need to have at least 25% of their daily food coming from protein for the development of their perfect “abs” and around 5% fat to meet the daily requirements, as well as to support the extra shine to their skin.
